MSAs are Metropolitan Statistical Areas, as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau.  They are population centers of 50,000 or more residents.  For example, Phoenix Arizona would be in the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale MSA. These MSAs are how most real estate data is tracked across the United States.  There are a total of about 380 MSAs.  Of those 380, REMarketStats currently tracks market indicators in 220.  (We will be adding additional MSAs as data becomes available)
